Absence
OFF SCHOOL
If your child is absent from school for any reason, please inform the school as soon as possible. You can either telephone or call in and leave a message at the school office, or, if it is only for a day or two, you can send a note to your child’s teacher when your child returns. If school is concerned over absence, the Education Welfare Officer will be asked to call on you to offer help and advice. Please make sure you let school know why your child is absent. If you don’t, your child’s absence will be recorded as “unauthorised”. If your child walks to school unaccompanied by an adult, please ensure the school is telephoned before 9.30 a.m. in cases of absence, to avoid school having to investigate the absence.
HOLIDAYS AND LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Dates of holidays are notified to parents by “pupil-post” and on the calendar page of this web site. It is expected that your children will take holidays with their families during the times when the school is closed. The government regulations on taking children out of school during term time have altered radically and it would be advisable to read our policy based on these.
