MEET THE STAFF OF SMITHY BRIDGE SCHOOL for 2017-2018
Discussion with the Staff
Smithy Bridge School values an active partnership between home and school. Your interest in your child’s education can foster such links.
We have the first Parent-teacher consultations in the Autumn, when teachers are available to meet with you. We find this is a good point in the school year, as it gives time for the teacher to get to know your child well. It is also a good time to make sure that any queries you may have are sorted out long before your child’s transfer to a new teacher in the next school year.
A further discussion between parents and teaching staff is also held in the Summer term to discuss progress made in the past school year, and your child’s written Record of Achievement report together with its target-setting for the next school year.
Parents can also arrange to see their child’s class teacher at any point in the school year to discuss progress or problems, at any mutually convenient time.
Many other informal occasions take place through the year when the school is open to parents and friends, and, of course all parents are invited to a whole range of social and educational events held by the school and its Parent-Teacher Association.
Getting to see the staff in school
During the normal school day, the children must have first call on their teachers’ time. Therefore, if you wish to talk to talk to the teacher please ring school in the first instance to make an appointment twenty-four hours prior to meeting with your child’s teacher.
The Headteacher is, of course, available at short notice in case of urgent need.
Non-urgent messages can always be left with the school office staff.
